Coventry University Students’ Union is a charity dedicated to improving the experience of students at the Coventry University Group, operating across 7 campuses in Scarborough, London and Coventry.

If you are a student at Coventry University and looking for part-time work alongside your studies then the Students Union is looking to recruit a number of motivated student staff to support with the day to day operations in their Catering outlets based within our Coventry Campus.

The role will involve the preparation and serving of food and drinks whilst providing excellent customer service. You will ensure all relevant food handling procedures are adhered to and maintain a clean and safe environment, promoting products, taking payments, and contributing to the outlet's sales performance. Training will be provided, including Food Safety/Hygiene (level 2). Allocation of shifts will be subject to successful completion of training. Initially, trading hours will be 8:30am to 3.00pm each day and shifts will start 30 minutes prior to opening and end 30 minutes after closing times. Various shift lengths will be available.

Key duties will include:

• Working as part of the services team, support the agreed trading performance as defined in each catering outlets business model and/or service level agreement.
  
• Support the stock management and resources in accordance with agreed standards and manufacturer’s instructions (Cleaning, Equipment etc.)
• Greet customers and always ensure the safety of staff and customers; escalate concerns and issues affecting customers to the manager.
  
• Maintain high levels of personal hygiene in line with expectations outlined in both the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) and Level 2 Food Safety Training.

You must have strong communication skills and be confident speaking to people and be numerate with excellent customer service skills and have a friendly disposition.

The role is paid £11.44 per hour and holiday pay will be paid on a monthly basis.
