Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Coventry University Students’ Union is a charity dedicated to improving the experience of students at the Coventry University Group, operating across 7 campuses in Scarborough, London and Coventry.
We have a great opportunity for an individual to join our marketing and communications team, to support the coordination, development and delivery of effective marketing and communications plans for the Students’ Union and its various departments that engage our audiences.
We are looking for someone who loves creating content and delivering engaging and visual marketing both on and offline. Working with staff and students across all levels, you will build strong relationships to support and source engaging and accessible content. To be successful you will need to be highly organised, deliver at pace, and work effectively and proactively.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in marketing processes and using modern media techniques including web based and social networks. A minimum Level 4 qualification in Marketing or Communications, or equivalent significant work experience, is essential.

Key duties will include:
- Writing, producing, editing and publishing relevant, timely and engaging content, including social media content (posts, reels, stories, etc.), web articles/blogs, interviews, and other editorial content including email newsletters for the SU, its Commercial Services, and its clients.
- Providing training, support and resources to staff, officers and students to cultivate development of student-led content, particularly in terms of content suitability, accuracy, style, format, structure, and measuring engagement.
- Briefing and supporting the Creative team with creation of engaging, inclusive and relevant assets that support key communications and campaigns across the SU, including print assets, digital graphics, videos and animations.
- Coordinating a content schedule and working with departments and contributors on content pipeline and delivery across a range of channels, including social media, the website, physical print, and email.
Working hours and Location
This post is permanent working full-time 37.5 hours per week, a flexible approach to working hours is required. As an organisation we have an agile working programme which allows for some opportunity for working from home. For this role the successful candidate will be required to work on campus in our Coventry office a minimum of 3 days a week during term time, with additional flexibility to meet business need.
Salary Details
The salary is £26,942 - £29,959 per annum.
It is usual to start at the bottom of the grade and will increase incrementally on an annual basis, however for a candidate with highly relevant previous experience an offer may be made within the grade range.
