Student Voice and Democracy Coordinator

Salary: £26,942 - £29,959 per annum

Contract: Full-time and Permanent

Location: Coventry (Minimum 4 days in the office during term-time)

We are looking for individuals who can further enhance our students’ learning experiences, increase their sense of course identity, and support their professional development through activity that compliments their learning.

In this key role you will assist in the delivery of Membership Services operations in a nominated School or College, providing support to local Student Officers, Student Representatives and members with activities and training.

In this interesting and varied role, you will coordinate the delivery of Coventry University Students’ Union services, and engage students in related events, campaigns, and projects.

Key duties:
  • Coordinate and facilitate ‘student-led’ activities
  • Coordinate the delivery of a varied range of student voice activities, including the Rep System, Online Feedback Platform, surveys and events with Senior Leadership teams.
  • Support the coordination of local student elections, and ongoing induction and support, for elected members in line with our standards
  • Champion and support student engagement in quality assurance and enhance activity within the University, including Equity and Diversity
  • Maintain student-facing online content, such as websites and social media platforms
  • Support student leaders and elected officers with daily activities
  • Build and maintain relationships with University staff and key stakeholders

The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting fairness, opportunity, and equity. You'll be organised and a great communicator, capable of presenting and training students and university staff as well as creating documents for different audiences and speaking up in meetings. You will be able to plan, promote, and deliver engaging activities and events to our membership. Most of all, you’ll be positive and good at building rapport with stakeholders.

You must have some experience of delivering training or workshops and planning and delivering events.

Working Hours and Location:

This post is permanent working full-time 37.5 hours per week; a flexible approach to working hours is required. As an organisation we have an agile working programme which allows for some opportunity for working from home. For this role the successful candidate will be required to work on campus in our Coventry office a minimum of 4 days a week during term time, with additional flexibility to meet business need.

Salary Details:

The salary is £26,942 - £29,959 per annum
It is usual to start at the bottom of the grade and will increase incrementally on an annual basis, however, for a candidate with highly relevant previous experience an offer may be made within the grade range.
