Coventry University Students’ Union is a charity dedicated to improving the experience of students at the Coventry University Group, operating across 7 campuses in Scarborough, London and Coventry.

As the Membership Services Manager London you’ll oversee the day to day operations at our various campuses across London and be responsible for the delivery of Student Voice across those sites. Your role will work with Senior Academic Stakeholders to ensure the SU delivery meets the needs of students at these sites. You’ll gain excellent knowledge of the demographics of students to make informed decisions on delivery and providing insight on what these students want from the SU. Your role will be expected to work with various SU departments creating strong working relationships.

Our ideal candidate will have previous experience managing full-time staff members and will understand the challenges of engaging students in extra-curricular activities. You will need to be good at working off your own initiative looking for opportunities to further develop our delivery at our London Campuses. Experience of delivering student voice activities, particularly representation mechanisms, will be incredibly valuable and you’ll have previously analysed student voice data to be able to present informative reports on how students perceive their experience to a range of high level stakeholders.

The team you will be joining consists of an Advice Caseworker line-managed by the Head of Advice and Wellbeing, and a Membership Services Assistant Manager focused on delivering activities and societies line-managed by the Head of Experience and Belonging. The successful candidate would oversee day-to-day supervision of these colleagues, and would report to the Head of Student Voice and Campus Engagement.

Key duties will include:

  • To be responsible for the day to day supervision of membership services staff at London campuses.
  • To be responsible for the delivery and development of the Student Voice system at London campuses.
  • To oversee student engagement in Your SU services through the co-ordination of events and activities in partnership with other London colleagues.
  • To work with colleagues in the recruitment, management and training of London-based student staff.
  • To produce regular written reports on effectiveness of all activities.

Working hours and Location

This post is a permanent role and the full-time contract is 37.5 hours per week. As an organisation, we have an agile working programme which supports staff working from home, however regular working each week is required at our London sites (circa 3 days per week in the office as a minimum) and flexibility to meet business need is required. Coventry University London Campus will be the base location for this post however travel is expected across multiple sites (minimum of one day each week at CU London Dagenham site with frequent visits to the CU London Greenwich site).

Salary Details

The salary is £36,024-£40,521, plus a London Weighting Allowance of £3,000 per annum.
It is usual to start at the bottom of the grade and will increase incrementally on an annual basis.
