Coventry University Students’ Union is a charity dedicated to improving the experience of students at the Coventry University Group, operating across 7 campuses in Coventry, London, and Scarborough.

If you are a student at Coventry University, based at our Coventry campuses, passionate about content creation and looking for flexible part-time work alongside your studies, the Students’ Union are recruiting Student Content Creators to support our Marketing team!

Students’ Union Content Creators will assist with photography coverage of SU events and create engaging content that reflects student life, represents the Your Su offer, and resonates with the wider student community. Purpose

Students’ Union Assistants are responsible for providing student-focused services to our members and wider stakeholders. 

As a Student Content Creator, you will support the Marketing and Communications Department with day-to-day operations, while bringing your student perspective to the role. This includes, but is not limited to, providing live event coverage and photography at Students’ Union events, and creating engaging short-form content that reflects student life, represents Your SU offer, and resonates with the wider student community.

Communications and Insights

  1. To assist the SU’s marketing team with creating student focused marketing and promotional materials and content, ensuring it is current, inclusive and of high quality.
  2. To contribute to the creation of engaging short-form video content for the Students’ Union’s social media channels, such as Instagram and TikTok, including filming, editing, and formatting content suitable for each platform.
  3. To support photography for Students’ Union activities and campaigns, demonstrating a creative eye when capturing images for promotional use.
  4. To bring creative ideas to the team and contribute to the development of fun, impactful marketing and communications campaigns that engage and resonate with students.
  5. To undertake primary research activities within established procedures and under the direction of Students’ Union Staff.
  6. To assist insight activities, including analysing findings and contributing to reports.
  7. To assist the SU’s marketing team with producing and editing a range of content that is relevant to students (physical and digital media e.g. images, videos and written copy) in line with the SU brand guidelines.
  8. To keep up to date with new technologies for communications and insights.
  9. To propose stories and produce journalistic coverage of Students’ Union activities.

General Responsibilities to all roles:

  1. To ensure that all Students’ Union procedures and policies are followed.
  2. To complete timesheets and logs accordingly to established procedures.
  3. To complete, either digitally or in person, training and meetings associated with the role.
  4. To use Students’ Union equipment and resources as directed and within established procedures.
  5. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade and range of the post.
  6. To support the Students’ Union to operate in line with its commitment to Sustainability and Social Responsibility.
