Welcome to your application form. StaffSavvy is a service that helps us (Your Students' Union) manage your employment application with us. StaffSavvy will be collecting and processing your personal data on our behalf.

We ("Your Students' Union") will be what is known as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us in respect of StaffSavvy. For StaffSavvy, we only collect basic personal data about you that we as your potential employer need to know. All the personal data we process via StaffSavvy is either processed by or on our behalf (including the third party hosting company for the service) in the UK. No other third parties have access to your personal data provided for StaffSavvy (unless the law allows them to do so).

Details of the retention period and the lawful basis for our processing of your personal data are as set out in our full privacy policy which is available on our website.

If at any point you wish to have access to this personal data or believe the information we process on you is incorrect or incomplete you can request to see this information and have it corrected or deleted. You also have the right to restrict our processing of your personal data or to object to our processing of it. Further details of your rights in respect of your personal data are also set out in our privacy policy. Details of who to contact if you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data are set out in the privacy policy.

Regarding AI

Your Students’ Union understands that generative artificial intelligence programs (AI) can be a helpful tool in writing. We are keen to see the real you in your application and would encourage candidates to avoid submitting a fully AI generated submission to the application questions, although we do understand the positive benefit and impact that using aspects of AI can bring. However, please be aware that candidates are still wholly responsible for the accuracy of any content generated by AI.

Regarding CVs

Please note that only information included within your application form will be considered in shortlisting unless stated otherwise. If you send your CV to us separately, this will not be taken into consideration, so please ensure that you tell us everything you want us to know within your application!
