The Activities Manager (London) role is responsible for creating, leading and delivering a programme of extra-curricular activities. This includes student groups, communities, events and campaigns. Successful applicants will need to be passionate, creative and talented, with an interest in being on the cutting edge of innovation and delivery in the student movement.
Supported by the Head of Student Experience and Belonging you will manage the day-to-day delivery of local operations at Coventry University’s Students’ Union’s sites across the London region, ensuring the students’ union offer is continuously meeting, and exceeding, the needs of our members and stakeholders.
The successful post-holder will be a key driver in developing our services across the London campuses and will work directly with students, their representatives and local university management teams, to improve the student experience and the offer at their campuses.
You will empower and provide support to local Student Officers, Student Representatives and members across a range of functions including democratic/representative services, supporting student groups and societies, as well as the development and delivery of events and activities.
You must be an effective communicator to reach our student representatives and establish strong working relationships with faculty management, internal students’ union departments and other key stakeholders.

Key duties will include:
- Enhancing the student experience through supporting students and Students’ Union elected representatives to deliver positive change.
- Delivering a range of co- and extra-curricular services and engagement activities.
- Delivering local student elections, and ongoing induction and support, for elected members in line with the Students’ Union’s standards.
- Championing and supporting students and the Students’ Union’s engagement in quality assurance and enhancing activity within the University, including Equity and Diversity.
Working hours and location
This post is a permanent role and is available as a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) basis across our current four main campuses in the region at Liverpool Street, Dagenham, Greenwich and Vauxhall.
A flexible approach to working hours is required. Some travel may be required. As an organisation, we have an agile working programme which supports some working from home. 3-4 days in the office (London) and 1-2 working from home day (if full time) can be offered in this role and flexibility to meet business needs is required.
Salary details
The salary is £29,605 - £33,966, plus a London Weighting Allowance of £3000pa.
It is usual to start at the bottom of the grade and increase incrementally on an annual basis, however for a candidate with highly relevant previous experience an offer may be made within the grade range.
