Activities Programme Lead
Salary: £30,805 - £35,116 per annum
Contract: Full-time and Permanent
Working Location: Hybrid (3-4 days in office, 1-2 days working from home)
Coventry University Students’ Union is a charity dedicated to improving the experience of students at the Coventry University Group, operating across 7 campuses in Scarborough, London and Coventry.
As Activities Programme Lead you will be essential in ensuring we are planning and delivering a wide range of activities for students to engage in. You will sit as part of our Activities Team which focuses on providing students non-academic experiences such as events and activities to make friends, gain skills and improve their overall University experience. Your role will focus on planning welcome activity for the multiple intakes a year we have. You will be responsible for planning and delivering a regular programme of activity including developing an inter-mural sport programme. You will also lead our Students Union awards season and support our elected officers in planning and delivering events related to their manifesto’s. You will manage some student staff to help you deliver these activities.
Our ideal candidate will have experience in planning and delivering events, activities and sporting opportunities. Be able to implement engagement initiatives and work with hard-to-reach audiences. They should have great organisational skills with a strong attention to detail. They should have the knowledge to ensure any activity delivered follows health and safety protocols and is within the allocated budget. They should be confident and outgoing with the ability to speak to a diverse range of students. They should be able to use their initiative and work without close supervision. We are looking for someone who is positive, proactive and will be solution focused.

Key duties will include:
- Design, develop and promote a programme of activity that students can partake in to build regular interactions with the Students Union
- To develop and grow an inter-mural sports programme
- Be responsible for welcome activity being delivered across the CU Group
- Lead the SU Award Season ensuring that all awards ceremonies are delivered safely, on time and on budget
- Support elected officers in planning and delivery of activities- and events helping them to achieve their manifestos
Working hours and Location
This post is a permanent role, and the full-time contract is 37.5 hours per week. As an organisation, we have an agile working programme which supports staff working from home, however regular working each week is required in the Coventry Office (circa 3/4 days per week in the office and 1-2 working from home) and flexibility to meet business needs is required.
Salary Details
The salary is £30,805 - £35,116 per annum. It is usual to start at the bottom of the grade and increase incrementally on an annual basis.
